Rita's Grandfather (Poppa) had quite the green thumb when he was with us.  He could grow plants in any soil.  He ate a peach one time that he liked the flavor of so much that he decided to try growing a tree from the pit.  That tree took off and grew from that pit!  When Rita's parents got their house, Poppa gave them that tree as a house warming gift and Rita and her siblings grew up climbing on, playing under, and eating peaches from that tree.  Well, Poppa left us several years ago, and when Rita's parents sold the house 3 years ago they pruned the tree, I aquired the prunings and made pens for the family from them.  So they all have a piece of Poppa with them now.

A friend of ours who is a hunter, wanted to have a keepsake of a really successful hunting trip, but he isn't a "trophy" hunter, he believes in eating the meat and not killing just to hang a trophy on the wall.  He brought me the antlers of the Elk he took to make a pen from.  Now he has his keepsake and a beutiful pen.  

 (I try to use only "shed" antlers in the pens that I make whenever possible)

If you have a new Corian countertop installed in (or an old one taken out of)  your home, save any scraps that you can and contact us about making you pens from the scraps, just don't lay the pens down on the counter, they may blend in!

So to participate in the Sentimental Material  program, all you need is material - typically wood, antler, or corian countertop material - that holds some special meaning to you.  Contact us about having a pen or bowl or bottlestopper made for you from it using the contact us form.  Any material considered for use must be at least one half inch diameter and four inches long, but the bigger it is the better it will work.  All pricing is on a case by case basis due to the extremely unique nature, please contact us for a quote.
